                                                                 Distilleries

With no fewer than 47 distilleries spread across the Highlands and islands, this region is by far Scotland's largest geographical whisky producing area. The region probably boasts the widest array of styles and is home to some of whisky’s most famous names.

Visit Scotland has  an excellent interactive map showing the distilleries :

Clynelish Distillery in Brora is newly renovated and offers guided tours and tastings. https://www.malts.com/en-row/distilleries/clynelish/

Dalmore distillery and Old Putney are also close by and are suitable for half day or day trips.
